Clinical Practice (Internship) Program for Medical Graduates

The Clinical Practice (Internship) Program for Medical Graduates represents a crucial stage of postgraduate professional development, designed to facilitate the integration of graduates into real clinical settings, fostering independent clinical reasoning, professional competence, and responsibility. The Program also serves to enhance and refine the practical skills of already certified physicians.

The Program is intended for graduates of one-cycle medical education programs and/or licensed physicians who wish to deepen their clinical competencies and gain hands-on experience through supervised clinical practice under the guidance of a mentor.

The structure of the Program is based on clinical rotations, ensuring interns’ participation in diverse medical disciplines and promoting the development of professional skills in multidisciplinary clinical environments.

Applicants may choose to enroll in the full 12-month integrated program, a shorter training cycle, or individual modules, according to their professional interests and learning objectives.

The Program is implemented in the affiliated hospitals and clinical bases of Avicenna – Batumi Medical University, which provide a real clinical learning environment under the academic supervision of the University, in accordance with the defined program goals and learning outcomes.

The design and implementation of the Program are fully aligned with international standards, following the principles of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and Competency-Based Education (CBE). These frameworks ensure a structured approach to developing clinical reasoning, ethical decision-making, evidence-based practice, and research competencies.

Target Audience:

✔ Graduates of one-cycle medical education programs (MDs)

✔ Licensed physicians

Admission Requirements:

✔ MD Diploma

✔ in the case of licensed physicians, a valid certificate authorizing medical practice

Program Completion Requirements:

✔ For the full 12-month cycle: Successful completion of all required modules, full completion of the Portfolio (Logbook), and a positive evaluation by both the Clinical Mentor and the Program Director;

✔ For individual modules or short-term cycles: Fulfillment of the requirements defined in the Individual Module/Rotation and Training Plan, and a positive evaluation by the Clinical Mentor.
