On October 21, the first Georgian-Turkish international summit in the domain of gastroenterology and endocrinology was held in the conference hall of Radisson Blue Batumi. Turkish, Georgian, and French researchers presented scientific papers on the findings of recent medical studies and the issues of introducing innovations. Topics of medical education, challenges and perspectives of improving diabetes control mechanisms, and introduction and development of transplantology services were discussed at the summit.

"Let's get on a new train" - this became the slogan of the summit, the goal of which was to move Turkish-Georgian medical cooperation to a new, more academic and rational level, disseminate knowledge, share experience, and enhance partnership cooperation.

The scientific summit was organized within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Avicenna-Batumi Medical Universities.
